Will Padmavati release on 17 November 2017?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati is one of the biggest films of the year. It is said to be the most expensive Bollywood films of all time. Padmavati which stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor is scheduled to release on 17 November 2017.

However, the film has been involved in too many controversies even before release and has faced massive protests which went violent last couple of times. Bhansali was attacked on the sets of his film in Jaipur in January while Padmavati set was torched in Kolhapur this month. Rajput community has alleged that there are love scenes between Padmavati (Deepika Padukone) and Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) which is the contradiction to the history.

Talking about the incident Sanjay Leela Bhansali has recently said, “While we have clarified this multiple times across various media platforms, the vandalism against the film deeply pains me. This violence is unjustified and not acceptable as it is merely based on hearsay, allegations and accusations, and not on facts.”

The director said that Rajput leaders, who have received the clarification from Sanjay’s team, have agreed to lend support. They have signed a letter offered by Sanjay’s team and have promised cooperation in making Padmavati. Sanjay says, “I hope this puts to rest all the misconceptions regarding the film.” The director also said that Indians would be proud of this film once it will release.

Reportedly there is three months schedule left for Padmavati and most of it compromises outdoor shooting. Right now the shooting has been canceled and it will take some time before they start again. And then there will be a lot of post-production work. So can this film release on 17 November?

There were reports that Padmavati will be postponed to 2018. However, Bhansali Productions has informed us that there is no truth in such rumours and they are coming on the announced release date. The crew will start shooting again as Rajput leaders have given them a green signal.

Reportedly Padmavati makers do not want to postpone the film as it will be a difficult task to get the dates from all the lead actors again. Also, the film has got extra publicity due to the controversy which can help at the box office.

As of now, Padmavati is set to release on 17 November 2017.

  4. Bhansali became mad after sucess of BM....he is now greedy to exposed our history in bad way...showing all RAJA RANI had extra marital affairs...thats it....in BM he didnt show how Bajirao won shanivar wada nobody knows but everyone knows he has affair with mastani....if we make movie on shanivar wada may 3 part not enough...
