Finally, the much controversial film Udta Punjab has hit the screens today. It was released in around 2100 screens. The early trends suggest that film has taken a good opening.

The overall occupancy in the morning shows was around 40% in all over India which is very good. The start is excellent in North India as the occupancy in circuits of East Punjab, is 65%. In Delhi city the occupancy is around 50%. That is probably due to the presence of Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh who has a massive fan following there. The opening was also good in places like Mumbai and Bangalore where the start is approx 35%.

In terms of occupancy, the film has the best start in North India and can emerge as the biggest opening day of 2016 beating Fan and Housefull 3 there. The controversy factor seems to aid Udta Punjab collection when it comes to initial. It is also the biggest opener for Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Phantom Films.

Udta Punjab 1st Day Box Office Collection Early Trends:

As per the early trends, Udta Punjab 1st day collection will cross 10 crore. Though it should maintain the pace in the evening shows. And with more growth it can go much higher.
