Spectre & PRDP 2nd Saturday Box Office Collection Update:
Hollywood release Spectre has done very well on its first day. The film has collected around 6.20 crore on Friday. It has also collected 2.20 crore from its previews on Thursday. So the total collection has surpassed 8 crore. The last James Bond fim Skyfall collected 4.75 crore on its opening day.
The film did very well in urban multiplexes as there was not much of a competition. But it was little weak outside metros where Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is still strong.
On Saturday, Spectre has a shown upward trend. But it can show huge growth in the evening shows which has been the trend for Hollywood releases on Saturday. Though the response has been mixed so far.
The other Hindi release X: Past & Present has a very poor opening day. The first day collection is around 10 lakhs. On Saturday, most of the shows for the film has been cancelled due to no audience.
Salman Khan starrer Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has also a little better start on its second Saturday. Multiplexes have shown a slight growth while single screens were same as yesterday. The film registered a 20% occupancy in the morning shows. It will improve as the day will progress.
It could not pick up in North India and the films that really sustain well tend to be strong in North. But surprisingly on the other hand it is having a strong hold in CI and UP. Gujarat did fall a bit on its 8th day but it has sustained after that. In fact it has shattered all first week records here and may went on to become the top 3 grossers of all time.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has collected around 4.50 crore on its second Friday. The film should show growth today as there is a lot of scope. The second weekend can cross 20 crore which will be a decent result considering the rend.
