Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati has been in the news but for all the wrong reasons. First, there were casting issues in the film as the makers were not able to find the third lead beside Ranveer and Deepika. The film is also in the troubles due to the threats by Rajput community. And the latest we hear that there are budget issues and stars will not be available for shoot due to their other commitments. SLB planned to wrap up filming in time for Cannes 2017 but now that won’t be possible.
Now there are reports that film will not be releasing next year and will be postponed to 2018. and they are planning to release it either in Summer or in December. Padmavati is one of the most expensive films made in Bollywood as the budget will be around 150 crore and needs a festival release. Eid 2018 slot is still empty however this date is generally associated with Salman Khan. If Padmavati is released in December, this would set up another clash between Bhansali and Shahrukh Khan whose dwarf project will be releasing in the same period.
Interesting both films were earlier announced to release December 2017. However SRK postponed his film to 2018 and a few days later Salman Khan's Tiger Zinda Hai was announced for December 2017 release.
