Raid Day 1 Box Office Collection Update: Ajay Devgn's Raid has a slow start at the box office on its opening day. Actually this is the lowest opening for an Ajay Devgn starrer in recent times. This was expected due to the genre and appeal of the film.
Raid has opened to around 20% occupancy in the morning shows on Friday. The opening is hard to come for films like these unless you have Shahrukh Khan or Salman Khan. Probably these are the only actors who can take opening irrespective of the genre. A similar film like Special 26 had a same start but that film was released in less number of screens.
In terms of occupancy, Raid has taken the 4th highest opening of 2018. However Ajay Devgn starrer is released in 3400 screens which is a big number for content oriented film like this. It is the second widest release of the year hence the occupancy is lower as compared to Padman which had a controlled release.

It has received good reviews from critics which will ensure a jump in the evening shows. The early trends are suggesting an opening day of around 10 crores which will be a decent start for a film like Raid.

Srk can give big openings only with big heroines, commercial genre, heavy promotion unless 14.69 crore opening. Infact that 14.69 crore film had a 300 crore heroine, without her it would have opened below 10 crore.and not only in this phase even in his best phase little bit of out of commercial zone films like paheli, swades, cdi took disastrous opening. Infact his masterpiece cdi opened below salman's disaster contentless salaam e ishq.
