Raabta Day 1 Box Office Collection Update: The last couple of months have proved to be good for distributors and exhibitors. Though the contribution from Bollywood was less still it was better than the first quarter of the year with Sachin and Half Girlfriend taking good openings and Hindi Medium emerging a sleeper hit.
This Friday saw the release of Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon starrer Raabta. The early trends are suggesting that it has taken a poor opening. Check out Raabta collection update below.
As per the official announcement, the film is released in 1820 screens. The overall occupancy in the morning shows was in the range of 15% in all over India which is a very poor start. The opening is better in Delhi and Mumbai but even that is way below the mark. It has almost sealed the box office fate of the film.

Raabta had chances to score in North India considering the genre and hit music also has a Punjabi touch. But the leading actor Sushant mainly commands his star power in circuits like Mysore, Bengal etc and has not really connected with the North Indian audience. On the top of that, the promos were looking very bad and confused. Now it will rely mainly on word of mouth which is looking not so positive from the early shows.
According to the early trade trends, Raabta 1st day collection is likely to be in the range of 3-4 crore. Though it can change depending on how it fares in the evening. Other Bollywood release Behen Hogi Teri has opened with 5% occupancy on the 1st day and will collect less than 1 crore.
Raabta is made on a medium budget of 55 crore including P&A. The film needs to collect in the range of 65-70 crore for recovering costs. It looks an uphill task as it will require huge growth over the weekend. This could turn out to be another disaster of 2017.
