Commando 2 and Logan 1st Day Box Office Collection

This Friday, Commando 2, Logan and some small Bollywood films were released. Commando 2 is an action film and is a sequel to 2013's film starring Vidyut Jammal in the lead. Logan is a Hollywood biggie and features Hugh Jackman who is portraying Wolverine for the last time.

Commando 2 Box Office Opening Report:

Commando 2 has opened to 15% occupancy in the morning shows. This is a slow start and the film needs to show big growth later on. Opening is better at single screens and in mass centers.

Action films are not faring well at the box office recently. Films like Rocky Handsome, Force 2 and Akira have flopped last year so there is little hope for Commando 2 also. As of now, Commando 2 1st day collection will be 3-4 cr which will be in the same range as the last film in the franchise. It has also grossed $90K in Gulf on Thursday.

Logan Box Office Opening Report:

Logan has a better start at the box office. It has 25-30% occupancy in the morning shows at multiplexes. The film is expected to show good growth in the evening at the high-end multiplexes. Logan may collect better than the Bollywood release Commando 2 on the opening even though it has a lower number of screens.

Hollywood domination continues in 2017 also as once again a Hollywood film has opened better than a Bollywood. The impact will be more in coming months as there are some big-budget Hollywood superheroes and franchise films lined up.

All other films like Jeena Isi Ka Naam Ha are a washout on the first day itself.
