Kabali 1st Day Box Office Collection: As expected Kabali has set the box office on fire. The film is going to shatter all box office records in Tamil film industry. But it looks like that Baahubali record is still safe. Take a look at Kabali collection report for the 1st day.
The film was released today in around 4000 screens worldwide. As per the early trends, Kabali 1st day collection is expected to go over 35 crores in down South. While it can collect around 3 crores from all over India. Super Star Rajinikanth’s Kabali opened to a thunderous response even in the morning shows. The film was running with the occupancy of 100% in Tami Nadu. While in Kerala, it was ranging from 85-90%. Though there were drops in the noon shows as the film failed to maintain its pace.
The opening was earth shattering in all A, B and C centers. Kabali 1st day box office collection is going to challenge the highest opening day ever. The record is currently held by Baahubali which collected 43 cr (net) on opening day in India. Kabali collection has also beaten all the opening records in the Kollywood film industry including those of Lingaa and I. The Hindi version of the film has performed decently on its first day. Kabali collections in Hindi version will be under 2.5 crore. It was always on the cards as except from Baahubali, South films have struggled in core Hindi belts. Still, Kabali has got an initial here and is the 2nd biggest opener for South Indian film. Though the content is not favourable for North Indian audience.
Kabali has also performed exceedingly well in the overseas market. It has collected $1.9m from the premier shows on Thursday in the USA. It has also shattered all records here beating Baahubali and Sardaar Gabbar Singh. The official figures are yet to come from other overseas markets.
Kabali 1st day collection can challenge Baahubali worldwide collection which collected 66 crores. Kabali has already crossed Baahubali opening day in Tamil Nadu and some centers in Andhra.
However the film has received mixed reviews and word of mouth also seems to be mixed. No doubt the start is historic but the trade pundits and distributors are worried about the reports. The film was bought at heavy prices and if it does not live up to the expectations it can turn out to be Lingaa Part 2. In such case, Rajinkanth will complete a hattrick of disasters.
Note: Producer figures for Tamil/Telugu version can vary so we will not post exact numbers for these versions. Only box office report will be updated and official figures will be announced tomorrow.
