The much awaited Judwaa 2 trailer is finally out. The film which stars Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Tapsee Panu in the lead roles has been directed by David Dhawan.
The film is about twin brothers (Prem and Raja) who are separated at their birth. One of the brothers is thought to be dead but only resurfaces stronger after living life on the streets to reunite with his family over a sequence of events and twist of fate. Genetically bound by reflexes both the brother’s lives interlink in strange ways and a comedy of errors. They eventually come together to destroy the smuggling nexus and save their family from a downfall that awaits them.
At over three minutes, the trailer seems a bit too lengthy. Varun Dhawan does charm with his funny antics. His comic timing is good though it looks like that he is overacting and humor is forced at places. Some of the scenes are a total copy of the original film. Judwaa 2 is a much bigger film in terms of scale, grandeur and look. However, it lacks the simplicity and freshness of the original. Also, Varun Dhawan tries too hard to replicate Salman and Govinda.
Judwaa 2 has been shot in overseas mostly and lacks the Indian feel. There are also some kissing scenes which might not go well with the family audience. The trailer also gives us the glimpses of yesteryears chartbuster songs from the original, Tan Tana Tan and Oonchi Hai Building which have been recreated.
Overall Judwaa 2 is a decent attempt to recreate the magic of the original. However, the expectations were much higher from David Dhawan.
From box office point of view, Judwaa 2 will take a very good opening thanks to the brand value and Varun's fan following among youth. There is also a cameo of Salman Khan which will help in initial.
