Priyanka Chopra starrer Jai Gangaajal has received mixed reviews. Most of the critics have praised the performance of Priyanka Chopra nad Prakasha Jha. Lets’s take a look at the reviews and rating by top critics.

It’s a confusing blend of social commentary on mob justice, the rich-poor divide and power-hungry politicians. Jai Gangaajal is crammed with issues such as corporate greed, debt-ridden farms, lawless cities and frustrated civilians, but there’s no particular direction to all that chaos. If you are a Chopra fan and would love to see her kick bad guys into submission, then give this film a shot. Otherwise, skip it.
PC's character is so well defined in the start that you almost feel cheated to see less of her and more of Prakash as the film progresses. As for Priyanka's performance, she will make a lot of female cops proud. Wish we could see more of her in the film.
With “Jai Gangaajal” Priyanka has once again proved that she is one of the finest actors in the film industry. The plot of the film is predictable but the hard-hitting action drama has some really powerful and engaging scenes that keep you glued to the silverscreen till the very end. The film gives a strong message of women empowerment. Priyanka’s bold avatar is overwhelmingly impressive. Definitely a must-watch!
Jai GangaaJal has characters that are overwritten. It is over plotted, overwrought, schmaltzy and never offers a pleasant surprise. Infact the story continues to get convoluted with each scene. Jha's characters are caricature portraits of real people. Be it Rahul Bhat who plays a man who tries to pull off a SRK from Swades by devoting himself to welfare of the village rather or Jha himself, whose character undergoes a drastic transformation too abruptly. They are far from being nuanced and their unidimensional, either too good or too bad image which conveys well enough that the story is far removed from reality.
Jai Gangaajal falters plot-wise, tries to balance it out with performances yet fails to create the right impact. I am going with a 2/5 for this!
After having watched Mrityudand, Gangaajal, Raajneeti, it is easy to say that this is one of Jha’s weaker projects. Perhaps, if he could have focused more on the screenplay than on making it a launchpad for himself, this could have been a better film. Watch it only for Priyanka Chopra, but then you might end up feeling sorry for her! After Quantico, Oscars and Baywatch reboot, she deserved much much better!
