May your soul rest in peace Sir.
Will always remember you for directing two of my most favorite movies EVER: Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (JBDY) & Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na (KHKN).
Sorry sir... Sorry everyone....
May your soul rest in peace....
Kabhi Haan Kabhi Haan, being a 90s movie may have been watched by many already. But would highly recommend watching Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (JBDY).
If I prepare a list of best 5 comedy movies ever, JBDY should be in that list also comprising Angoor, Chupke Chupke, Golmaal (older one starring Amol Palekar) & Andaz Apna Apna.
May his soul rest in peace! Good direction though just in two movies. First one is Jaane bhi do yaaro. One of the best and memorable comedy jn bollywold especially known for Draupadi swambar scene. Second Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa also a memorable one. It released in early 90 just when Shahrukh had established himself after Bazigar and Darr. So hats off for him
That last Mahabarat/draupadi scene was fantastic but overall its satirical take on the prevalent corruption is as relevant today as it was back then. Following is a link to a nice review of the movie:

Regarding kabhi haan kabhi na, it is my fav SRK movie and I found SRK’s acting in the movie to be his natural most. A character of a common guy which was very easy to relate to.
He also directed a decent Kya kehna (Preity/saif) and few other movies but he will be primarily remembered for the above two mentiones movies (both classics in my view).
Ajay aura was never over Akki in his entire career n never will be…It is foolish even to think so
Akki with Prabhu deva – Rowdy Rathore – Blockbuster..
Ajay with Prabhu deva – Action Jackson – Disaster
Akki with 30 cr budget Tepk gave Highest Grosser of the year beating Raees
Let Ajay do it then talk about comparision
Akki with flop director Raja Krishna Menon gave superhit Airlift
Let Ajay do it then talk
Golmaal franchise never considered as Ajay as he cannot do comedy everyone knows it so stop being funny… Ajay fans
BC again?? Even on a Dead man Article you are head over heels towards Ajay? Akki fans stooping so low because of Ajay is un expected especially on late Kundan article.
Get the hell out of here you stupid fan! Why here! Do you have any respect! May his soul rest in peace!
Haven't watched JBDY but KHKN WOW!
ACTING CLASS AND DIRECTION!
Shah Rukh Khan has always said that this man Kundan Shah is the main reason why he had courage to venture into movies!
He was a good man!
Oh YES!!!!!! How can I forget Kya! Kehna what a movie!!!!! Songs and story were picked by geniuses!
Will miss him made some super movies Jaane bhi do yaaro kya kehna hum toh mohabbat karega and my favourite srk movie of all time kabhi haan kabhi naa
Rest in Peace Sir. When i was growing KHKN was one of my most favourite trailer advertisment before its release.
REST IN PEACE SIR... U will definitely be remembered forever through ur works
RIP SIR we will always remember you through your works.
