Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil preponed to 25 January

Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam-starrer Kaabil, which was earlier supposed to release on 26 January will now hit the theatres a day early.

The makers have announced that film will release on evening of January 25. It is a wider version of previews as the shows will begin at 6 PM. Thus the film will not get a direct clash with Shahrukh Khan's Raees which will hit screens on 26 January.

The producer Rakesh Roshan seems to be extremely confident about Kaabil and told that the distributors have requested him to release it early so it can take advantage of holiday. He said,

"There have been instances in the past of movies being released mid-week especially if there is a big holiday following it. My director Sanjay Gupta and I are agreement on this. After hearing what our distributors have to say, we though it makes perfect sense to go with 25 January release."

Mostly the makers held previews shows so that the word of mouth can boost collections tomorrow. However this decision can backfire if the response is not encouraging especially with a clash.

Chennai Express holds the record for the highest collection of paid previews. The film collected 6.75 crore which is a huge amount. The film broke the record of 3 Idiots which collected 2.70 crore.

  1. Kaabil will face the same fate as Shivaay, both released 1 day earlier and got mixed WOM. The critics will slam this movie bcoz they all are a piece of crap.

  2. SHIVAAY Got Bad Reviews from Early Screenings.

So, Kaabil can Go like Shivaay Because without the Help Of Good Reviews it will never Collect much because RAEES Is Also a Universal Film & Will Open Unaffected by any Type of Reviews on Friday & Will Open Equally both in Mass & Urban areas & If Kaabil Get Bad Reviews Which is Guaranteed because of its Genre it Will Not Open Well at Multiplexes on Friday.

BTW,Hope For The Best only For RAEES.........not for Rakesh Roshan's film.

  3. Actually the director of this film is not Rakesh Roshan himself. Its Sanjay Gupta who doesnt have any good track of film making. Nor his film been ever appreciated as per Directors Cut. indian ordeans dont like their hero to be blind or carry any improper reference. Does they are only taking a chance. Hritikh is a good actor going through wrong choices.
Decision may take the film to worse side.

  4. This is a gamble it can work but can backfire as well. On the other hand raees will be 1st choice for most of the viewers. I m extremely excited for raees. Only raees on 26th jan.

  5. Why srkian are giving such opinion???? have they seen the film yet??? who is insecure known from it. From the view point of budget Kaabil will be a hit easily.
