Akshay Kumar is ruling the box office this year with two back-to-back hits. His last release Airlift became a big success and now Housefull 3 has also emerged hit and entered into 100 crore club. Housefull 3 has done well on its second Wednesday. According to the official figures, Housefull 3 13th day box office collection will be in the range of 1.85 crores.
The comedy film has now entered into the much talked about 100 crore club. It is Akshay Kumar's 5th entry into this club after Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, Holiday, and Airlift. That is indeed a great achievement considering that four of these films were released on non-holiday. It also signifies the potential of post IPL period.
The word of mouth was mixed for Housefull 3 but still it was expected to have a big 2nd week as there was not a major release. But a huge second weekend was missing. That is mainly due to the competition at metros by Hollywood's The Conjuring 2. Anyway, Housefull 3 collection has sustained well in last few days.
Housefull 3 box office collection in 13 days will be 101 cr. The film is the second highest-grossing film of 2016 and probably will remain until the release of Sultan. However Housefull 2 looks out of reach now unless Udta Punjab fared badly. Housefull 3 will finish its two-week run at 112 crore. There will be major competition from Udta Punjab in the next week. Still one can expect Housefull 3 to collect 10 crore in remaining days. The film is the sixth clean hit of this year.
