Akshay Kumar's Housefull 3 has recorded second highest opening day of 2016. The first day record in the first half of the year is still held by Shahrukh Khan's Fan and will remain there until the release of Sultan.
Housefull 3 had many factors going in favour of it like a popular franchise, universal appeal and post IPL release. So ideally it should have beaten the first day record of Fan which had limited appeal.
