Karan Johar's ambitious project Shuddhi, has faced many a hurdle since it was announced. First, the producer was not able to finalise on the leads. Initially Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan were to play the lead in the film, but both of them walked out. Then we heard that Salman Khan was signed for the movie, but the actor had trouble giving dates for it.
Finally the news was that Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt had been roped in for the project. Sanjay Dutt, who was to play a baddie in the magnum opus also walked out, reportedly, as he did not want to play a negative role in the film.
But, now it seems that the film, slated to release on Diwali 2016, has been shelved. Although no official statement has been made yet.
Recently the director Karan Malhotra's Brothers was released and debacled at the box office. And now the makers have decided to shelve the project.
