As anticipated, Hollywood film Dunkirk has done well at the Indian box office. The film has grossed approx 3.50 crores. It was released in only 650 screens and had no dubbed versions.
Dunkirk fared well in high-end multiplexes where it was collecting in the same range as Munna Michael despite the later getting 2500 screens. Director Christopher Nolan is popular in India as few of his last films have received an excellent response.
It will now show good growth over the weekend. There are high chances that film will be a success as there is no competition at plexes for two weeks.
In North America, Dunkirk has collected $5.5 million from Thursday previews. It is expected to gross $45-50 million in the opening weekend.
