Box Office Prediction for Baazaar

A decade ago, Saif Ali Khan was one of the top male stars in the country. Be it the record-breaking opening of Race (2008) or the super-success of Love Aajkal (2009), he firmly cemented his position as one of the top stars.

However, things haven't been kind for him this decade, 2010 onwards. He has had two films that were successful at the box office: Cocktail (2012), and Race 2 (2013), the former of which the success was attributed mostly to the chart-busting songs and Deepika's performance (I recall predicting this film would be the turning point of her career before it released!), and the latter of which only achieved Semi-Hit status despite being the sequel to a popular film.

Saif Ali Khan's popularity/credibility has been damaged severely in recent years with one box office dud after another (Humshakals, Happy Ending, Rangoon, etc). This is the biggest problem that will be affecting his upcoming release, Baazaar. Despite having a well-received trailer and the potential for positive public word-of-mouth, the film will do poorly at the ticket windows because of Saif Ali Khan's erased goodwill amongst the audience.

There is not much buzz to speak of. Alas, it will be another Saif Ali Khan film that will arrive and sink without a trace at the box office!

My Prediction of Baazaar's Overall Box Office Verdict: Flop

  1. How can u say without watching the film that it will be flop and receive negative word of mouth? Your whole prediction is just an assumption or your wish.

  2. Saif ali khan has time and again said he dosen’t watch Hindi films and dosen’t watch is own films whenever asked what his favourite film is he answers the good the bad and the ugly another culprit emraan hashmi so the mass public have followed one of they beloved stars they also don’t watch his movies.

  3. This movie looks like a rip off Wall Street. Wall Street was directed by Oscar winner Oliver stone and had great performance by its lead cast Micheal Douglas and Charlie Sheen and even greater was it's iconic dialogue that greed is good by Douglas. Sadly compared to that bazaar looks like it has nothing , only saving grace to the film is saif Ali Khan's performance. So agree with you it's going to be a flop
