Akshay Kumar has received the prestigious National award for his performance in last year release Rustom. The actor was honored with the National Award by President Pranab Mukherjee. Everybody present at the ceremony gave the actor a standing ovation.

Today morning too, Akshay posted a video of him where he spoke about receiving National Award and shared his childhood memory, “ I thought I am going to get beaten up for fairing so bad in exams. But that day, my father made me sit in front of me and asked me just one question – “What do you want to do in life?” I said, “I am very interested in sports and want to be the Khiladi one day.” To which my father said, “Fine then but simultaneously also finish your studies.”
After that day, you won’t believe I continued studying but meanwhile also took up martial arts, sports, modelling. My father supported me in all that I did. If that day my parents wouldn’t have helped me recognise my strengths, then I would have never even come close to being honoured with a National Award.”
