Airlift has done very good business on its second Friday. According to official figures Airlift 8th day box office collection is 4.5 crore.
Akshay Kumar starrer has sustained well at the multiplexes. It has the best hold in Mumbai and North India. The film started decent in the morning and noon shows but it showed goof growth later on. The occupancy at multiplexes was as high as 50%. Mastizaade and Saala Khadoos were released today. They did not affect Airlift 2nd Friday collection at all but it did took a lot of screens away.
Airlift box office collection in 8 days will be 88 crore. The film has beaten Brothers and Gabbar Is Back lifetime collection to become 6th highest grossing film of Akshay Kumar.
Airlift 8th day collection is a very good result despite the releases of new films. In comparison, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo collected 5 crore and Dilwale 8 crore on its 2nd Friday. Though both those films had the advantage of holiday season.
Airlift is all set to emerge super hit at the box office. The music and satellite rights have been sold at good prices. Plus the overseas share will also be very good. But it may fall short of 150 crore, a feat which was achieved by Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Bajirao Mastani (both riding high on word of mouth).
It will show huge growth on Saturday and Sunday and may even crush Mastizaade and Saala Khadoos.
